PvE rework—soon on consoles!
Friends!
Finally, the updated PvE system will soon be available for consoles. The rework maintains the familiar mechanics while introducing improved challenges and updated rewards.
Initially, only a limited number of PvE missions and SpecOps will feature the new mechanics to allow for thorough testing. Other special operations will remain accessible on the Easy difficulty. We encourage players to share their feedback on social media to help refine the system further.
Difficulty Levels Update
The PvE rework focuses on the difficulty of the available missions and special operations. The Easy mode will remain relatively unchanged, while the Normal and Hard modes will become more pronounced.
In the Normal mode, you will still win with randomly selected players and regular gear, but the Hard mode will be a true test of one’s skill and ability to build an efficient team. Because it’s a multiple-step process, further PvE missions and SOs will be available later as we unroll the changes to their difficulty as well.
Also, reworked missions and special operations will offer better rewards! The Normal mode will provide more XP, WF$, PvE points, and Crowns, and beating the Hard mode will reward the team even better.
Renowned SOs and Missions
Throughout the season, a line-up of special operations will be available to the players. Since the pool of available SOs will get narrower, the rewards will be adjusted to match. The following SpecOps will become available in Quick Play and Custom Rooms on all difficulties:
- “Cyber Horde”;
- “Black Shark”;
- “Icebreaker”.
“Mars”, “Pripyat”, “Earth Shaker”, “Anubis”, “Blackout”, and “Sunrise” will be available in Quick Play and Custom Rooms on Easy difficulty.
The number of PvE missions available will be limited to the ones related to the Afghan setting.
Readjustment of PvE and SO Rewards
In the old system, the ratio between the rewards in regular PvE and SOs wasn’t optimal. Almost all the rewards could have been obtained through special operations, so it made sense to recalibrate them in order to make regular PvE a viable option to farm Crowns.
Check out the tables in spoilers for a more detailed look at the rewards.
Difficulty | Crown rewards in old PvE | Crown rewards in updated PvE |

Easy | 24 | 50 |

Seasons and Grades
One of the major changes in the new PvE is seasonality, similar to that in RM and Battle Passes. Soon, the players will be able to complete PvE missions and special operations and get Crowns and a corresponding amount of PvE points.
PvE points will go towards the player’s PvE grade, which is set to 1 each season. The player will get the same amount of PvE points as the sum of Crowns awarded for a mission/SO. Each grade requires a certain amount of points to be reached, there’s no limit to the highest possible grade.
Your grade will allow you to unlock certain rewards in the seasonal PvE shop. The items in the shop will be available for Crowns, and each season the rewards are reset.
SO Rewards
The frequency with which the rewards for the special operations are updated will be changed. In the previous system, they reset daily. Soon, you will be able to play regular PvE daily as before and get rewards every day, while the rewards for the special operations will update once every week.
Cascade Completion of SOs
Besides, in a new PvE season, completing SpecOps on Hard will automatically bring you rewards not only for this mode but also for Easy and Normal modes combined. So you no longer need to complete one single SO multiple times to receive maximum rewards!
Dev comment: Please note that cascade completion works only for SOs, since in PvE there are different missions on different difficulties.
The amount of XP and WF$ for completing the PvE missions and SOs will be readjusted. Individually, each completion will give the player more experience and currency, especially the Normal and Hard modes.
The rates at which the players are able to upgrade their weapon mastery in PvE and SpecOps will be changed. Just like with the XP and WF$, more Mastery points can be gained by playing a more difficult mode.
New PvE Rewards and Shop
Your grade will allow you to unlock certain rewards in the updated seasonal PvE shop. The items in the shop can be bought for Crowns, and each season the rewards are reset.
What kind of rewards will the PvE shop offer?
The shop will offer different kinds of rewards that are unlocked progressively as the player climbs the PvE grades. Among the rewards, you will also find the Nord gear sets for all the classes.
Friendly Fire and Resurrection Coins
One more important feature of the new PvE system is that friendly fire is disabled on all difficulties. Earlier, friendly fire was present on Hard difficulty, which was a serious challenge for players.
However, during our internal playtests, we’ve found out that due to the peculiarities of the console aim-assist, players often cannot control friendly fire on PC—e.g. when one ally attempts to protect another by trying to kill the enemy behind them. Sometimes it caused the aim-assist to be aimed at the ally instead, leading to their accidental killing.
All the above is why friendly fire was completely disabled.
